India-Belize Employment Opportunity-Vacancy Announcement No. 2026-03

The Embassy of India in Mexico City has an opening for a temporary position of Admin Clerk. We are looking for a dedicated and proactive candidate to assist the diplomatic corps of the Embassy with their administrative needs.

Basic function and responsibilities of the position of Admin Clerk 

  • Undertaking daily administrative tasks to ensure the functionality and coordination of the department's activities.
  • Supporting Officers of the Embassy in organizing various projects.
  • Assisting in contacting vendors, service providers and obtaining quotes for work required in the Embassy.
  • Gather important data, generating reports and information as required for the functions of the department.
  • Manage the Embassy's front desk, ensuring a tidy and presentable reception area at all times.
  • Respond to general inquiries from the public, providing accurate information or directing them to the appropriate department.
  • Update spreadsheets, databases and inventories with requisite information.
  • Handing office tasks, such as filing, updating records/database and reordering supplies.
  • Making travel arrangements, such as book flights, cars, and making hotel and restaurant reservations.
  • Using computers to generate reports, transcribe file noting, and preparing notes for approval.
  • Maintain official communication via phone and email.
  • Assist with general duties as directed by Embassy officers.

Qualifications required

  • Level IV (fluent) proficiency in English and Spanish (speaking, reading, and writing).
  • Adherence to protocol requirements by the diplomatic corps
  • Attention to detail; desire to be proactive
  • Bachelor's degree or Associate's Degree in related field.
  • Knowledge of local laws and social security system.
  • Well versed with IT, excellent computer skills, specially typing and knowledge of Microsoft Office Word, Outlook,
    Excel, LibreOffice, Linux, etc. Typing speed of 35 words per minute (this will be tested).
  • Three years of office management work and prior administrative/consular experience are desirable.
  • Preference will be given to applicants with knowledge of taxation policy, including IMSS and IVA calculations.
  • A background in accounting is also desirable.
  • The successful candidate will be required to obtain and submit a security clearance certificate and a medical examination/fitness certificate.  

Employment length

This is a temporary position for 24 months from the date of hire. Extensions may be considered based on performance. The position includes a one-year probationary period during which either party may terminate the employment without prior notice. After the first year, a one-month notice period will be required.

  • Anyone who is eligible for appointment under Mexican local laws.
  • Applicant must be in possession of a Mexican social security card valid for employment and/or a work permit.\
